In short, bulking and cutting are mean building muscle and losing fat. Simply put, bulking means that your goal is to gain weight through increased muscle mass. You're eating more than you're burning in a day and therefore creating a caloric surplus. In the simplest terms, you are growing. Cutting is the opposite.

For the beginner, the first time user a very basic cycle is all that is needed. Although this is a common and efficient beginner’s cycle the word “beginner” can be a little misleading.
